Hajua

Our first tea estate was the lovely Hajua, which means “the Abode of the swans” in the local dialect.
Located in Sivasagar district at an altitude of 345 feet above sea level, Hajua was the first Assam garden to be entirely planted with carefully selected high quality clonal bushes, accounting for its premium quality liquors that are a worldwide brand today.

Hajua was later merged with Khoomtaie, Tinsukia and Rungoli Divisions to make what is today Assam’s largest tea estate: Khoomtaie, stretching across over 1200 hectares.
